Nokia N91Some major releases from Nokia today, introducing a trio of Nseries phones concentrating on media playback and improved megapixel-age on all of them. First up is the Nokia N91, 2 megapixel camera, with a 4GB storage space, and thankfully including a 3.5mm port in there (you wouldn't believe the trouble I went throught to convert the pop port connector to accept a 3.5mm jack), and by the looks of it, other phone manufacturers are on in the 3.5mm bandwagon too. Plays MP3, M4A (Nokia's AAC format of choice), AAC (not from iTunes probably) and WMA for you low file size loving people. Has USB 2.0 too so no more swapping in and out that MMC or transferring through Bluetooth, not that it doesn't have that feature though. But the killer is this baby will have Wi-Fi! Yay! Nokia N90Up next is the Nokia N90, a 2 megapixel, 6260 replacement of sorts with it's side shootin' action. Looks kinda broken and disjointed, but it's to alleviate the 6260 wrist tilt-up-and-down problem by having the camera compartment swivel up and down. The camera's no slouch either, sporting a Carl Zeiss lense, auto focus and integrated flash. Engadget Link.
Nokia N70Last but not least is the least inspired of the three, sporting a design similar to the recent 6680 series, with the whole 2 camera set up, FM tuner, yada yada yada. Ho hum. Engadget Link.
Verdict? Not particularly mind blowing. Apart from the Nokia N91 which piqued my interest with the inclusion of a 4GB drive and a proper headphone jack, the design aesthetic's been seen before. I still can't understand thought the push for the whole music thing everyone's been trying to go. Hell I've been doing it with my Nokia 6230 and where was my medal? HUH? Now no one would look at me strange anymore when I walk around with my Altec Lansic headphones, take out my phone and start rocking out. Now everyone's gonna have music phones. Pshaw. But I digress.
