This post is titled by author SoulJah. I love TV. I love being a couch potato. And this rant only would matter if you are made from the same breed that I am, nitpicking every little nagging flaw. I'm the guy who strikes up conversations about the most abscure show you could find on Astro.

But if you got me to rant on this topic just merely a few weeks earlier, I'd give Animal Planet [APL], The Hallmark Channel [HMK] and those twenty other channels I would never watch in my life, a really, really hard time. It really bugs me that we're paying for the channels we would never watch, but that's DST fer ya, always want to take the easy way out... *cough* *cough* WAP *cough* *cough*....

Given I don't watch those channels for more than, say, a few minutes, I think it's just a waste of bandwidth. The Chinese Channels, the Arabic Network, the News channel, Animal Planet, Hallmark and a host of others, all those could be used to get, NBC (not CNBC!), ABC, WB or whatever they have laying around in the US.

And even my favorite channels are getting lamer. Star World for instance, are not showing Drew Carey anymore, the only big reason I tuned in the first place. AXN is now dropping C.S.i., the only show I always tune into, and even the Anime hour is lame now, now that Stop You're Under Arrest is not showing repeats, while lame ones like Boys Be (eeeeuuurrrrrggghhh what a waste of celluloid) and Cooking Master Boy get a re-air. The new ones like Ayashe no Ceres, or Gensomaden Saiyuki, just doesn't capture me anymore. I maybe getting jaded. Or maybe my subconcious mind picks up on the laziness of the animators and the character designers. If you're too lazy to make a good anime, we will be too lazy to watch it you gits! [Note: Stop! You're Under Arrest 2 is going to show in the late half of the month. I just found out after the first time this article was posted.]

TechTV is my only salvation, with good shows, but they also show some re-runs and repeats of previous ones. And why do they have to filter shows like Screen Savers out? I love Chris Pirillo, Cat Schwartz and Roger Chang, but I want variety in my viewing pleasure. They should not filter it out, coz filtering is bad. And don't you just hate it we're living in Brunei, when the time zones wreak havoc on your viewing habits? For instance, they need to show Extended Play on a Friday right? Obviously by Friday the show isn't gonna air in the US yet. So they have to take the previous week's one and show that. It would be fine, if not the occasional un-filtered promo showing what's coming up this week.

And why do they have to fill in the tv programming time by getting those lame shows like ExMachina, Technosphere, or Future World with the futurist guy who can't keep his hands in place. I try to miss those programs I don't watch, but then you'd get those Tech Injections showing bits from those crappy English shows. C'mon TechTV Asia! Those shows are made three years ago! We need to get some un-filtered TechTV viewing here!

I said something about giving the Channels a hard time if it were a few weeks ago from high up right? Well I found a gem in Hallmark's lame made for old geezer's channel. It's Star Trek Voyager. Or Star Trek Voyeur for that matter, coz they have the oh so hot for 2000, Seven of Nine. But other than that, yeah, screw the other channels. I hope this will filter to the numbnuts at Astro and get them to change the channels. Dumbasses.
